What we keep, and how you remove it.
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Bloop is a family app that is not out yet. Today there are two things: this website and the early-access list. This page says what we collect through them, why, who else handles it, and how you have it removed. It is written by Joseph Maxwellson ("we").
The short version
- We never sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
- When you ask for early access, we keep your email address and a few facts about how you reached us. Nothing else is required.
- You get one email, when your invite is ready. Nothing else.
- Write to us and we remove your address.
What we collect
When you ask for early access. Your email address. The words you agreed to under the form, so we know what you were told. Which part of the page you signed up from.
How you reached us. If you came from one of our links or ads, the labels in that link (for example, which ad it was). The address of the website that sent you, cut down to the site's name, never the full page. The page you landed on, and whether you were on a phone or a computer.
If you answer the one question after signing up. Why you signed up, and whether your parent uses a smartphone. Both are optional, and skipping them changes nothing.
To stop repeated sign-ups. A scrambled form of your internet address, made with a secret key, used only to limit how many sign-ups come from one place. We cannot turn it back into your address, and we do not keep the address itself.
When you visit. Cloudflare counts visits to the site without cookies: which pages were opened, roughly where from, and with what kind of browser. It does not identify you.
What we do not collect
- Your name, your phone number or your parent's details
- Your location
- Cookies or an advertising identifier. There are no ad-network pixels on this site, and we do not follow you across other companies' websites or apps.
- Anything from your camera, microphone, contacts or photos
Why we use it
- To send your invite when the app is ready for you.
- To keep the list free of scripts and repeated sign-ups.
- To learn which of our links and ads bring people who want Bloop, and what they want it for.
- To answer you when you write to us.
Who else handles it
We share data only with the companies that help us run the site. Each gets only what its job needs.
| Company | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Convex | The database that holds the early-access list | Everything listed above under "When you ask for early access", "How you reached us" and the optional answers |
| Cloudflare | Serves the website, counts visits without cookies, and checks that a sign-up comes from a person and not a script | Technical details of your browser and connection, including your internet address when a sign-up is checked. Not your email. |
When we send invites, we will use an email provider to deliver them, and we will name it here before the first one goes out.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We may disclose information if the law requires it. If Bloop is sold or merged, the list may pass to the new owner under this policy.
How long we keep it
For as long as the early-access list exists, or until you ask us to remove you. If you later join Bloop, your address moves into your account. The scrambled internet address used to limit sign-ups is kept for about an hour.
Your choices
- To be removed from the list, email support@bloopfamily.app from the address you signed up with.
- To see what we hold about you, or to correct it, email the same address.
- Every email we send has a one-click link to stop more.
Some US states, including California, give residents the right to know what is collected, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we will not treat you differently for using these rights. To use them, email us.
Not for anyone under 18
The early-access list is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we will remove the address.
The app
The Bloop app is not out yet. Before it is, this page will gain a section that says what the app collects and why, and the date at the top will change. It will not sell your data.
Security
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not promise that ours is. Everything is sent over encrypted connections, and the list is reachable only by us. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email the list before it takes effect.
